Does San Diego, CA allow firepits?
Yes! Certification from The American National Standards Institute, (or ANSI certification) is required for all firepits within the US. This applies to fire features on public and private property, residentially and commercially It is also important to note if a firepit has CSA certification, as it indicates a product has been tested and certified by a reputable organisation. At Solus, it is extremely important to us that our products not only look beautiful, but are also safe. Therefore, all of our fire pits are certified to ANSI, CSA, CE & UKCA standards, meeting NA, UK & EU regulations.
ANSI firepits must be in an approved container that is no less than 15ft from a structure and they must be attended at all times while burning. If you are burning any other materials than the approved gas, ethanol or butane, then the firepit is not under the same designation, and there may be other fire permits needed. If you are looking for more information, please see links below.
