Our Span draws your focus to the material qualities of the concrete and on the structural relationship between its cross beam and legs. The detailing on this minimal fireplace surround is limited to 1/16” chamfers on all edges, allowing the organic surface variations and the mass of the concrete to speak for themselves. Available in four sizes and twelve colours, the Span surround is adaptable to a variety of aesthetic settings.
Additional header pieces can be purchased to increase the width of the fireplace opening. These rectilinear surrounds can also be used in conjunction with our tiles, panels and hearths for a wide variety of design possibilities including built-out and wall-to-wall installations. Appropriate for use in residential and commercial projects indoors and out.

Product Details and Care
Specs
- Each of our surrounds is hand-cast from high-performance, fiber-reinforced concrete which has been tested to ASTM standards.
- All concrete pieces are sealed with a penetrating sealer to enhance the polish of the surface and minimize staining.
- Concrete is naturally flame resistant and will not emit any toxic fumes when exposed to heat.
Care
- Concrete requires only a light dusting or occasional wipe with with warm water and a neutral , dilute cleaner. We also recommend an annual application of a suitable penetrating sealer. With proper care the surround will last as long as your building. (link to care)
- Our surrounds are naturally stable and will be as strong as the substrate that they are adhered to once installed. Concrete is very strong but can be susceptible to chipping if knocked sharply with a hard object so please handle it with care.
- Please Note: Although it is structurally strong and stable, concrete is susceptible to surface reaction with highly alkali and acidic substances.

This was our second fireplace surround we had ordered through Solus Decor Inc. Our first was a span surround fireplace which was perfect for the renovations in our family room. the surround has a beautiful modern and sleek appearance which is exactly what we were looking for.
For our second fireplace surround, we created our own unique surround with separate pieces solus Decor had and put them together for a specific look we had in mind for our living room fireplace. Kris was very open to our unorthodox requests and extremely helpful. We were very concerned about colour and Kris made himself available to show us sample of colourcs, etc. on more than one occasion. We were anxious with what our end product would be and after a lot of great communication with Kris and the staff at Solus Decor, we were extremely excited with the finalized product!
If we had another fireplace to re-do, we would be back at Solus Decor without any doubt. We would highly recommend Solus Decor and their products if you are looking for high quality fireplace surrounds and accessories. it is worth every penny! Thank you again!!
