The Crown fireplace surround exudes a regal elegance, seamlessly blending traditional grandeur with contemporary design. The 73” crown mantel is incredibly layered with many reveals and intricacies. It mimics more the classic limestone mantel you may find in Europe although perhaps not as “ruffled” or fancy as old world European mantels.
The smooth concrete finish is akin to well-worn leather and easily reflects the warm glow of the flames. Surrounding the fireplace, sleek, delicately moulded panels provide a warm embrace, enhancing the modern aesthetic while paying homage to classic craftsmanship. The overall effect is one of sophisticated comfort, where the timeless allure of the crown motif meets clean lines and minimalist accents, creating a captivating focal point in any room. Traditional hearth tiles and panels can add to the grandeur of this classic. Full scale walls look terrific with this mantel as does the special 76″ “ovolo slab hearth.
There is also a slab hearth option (Ovolo) measures 16″ x 76″ x 1 1/2″. All Solus surrounds are available in 12 colours and generally you will need to allow 5 – 6 weeks for delivery.

Product Details and Care
Specs
- Each of our surrounds is hand cast from high performance, fiber reinforced concrete which has been tested to ASTM standards.
- All concrete pieces are sealed with a penetrating sealer to enhance the polish of the surface and minimize staining.
- Concrete is naturally flame resistant and will not emit any toxic fumes when exposed to heat.
Care
- Concrete requires only a light dusting or occasional wipe with with warm water and a neutral , dilute cleaner. We also recommend an annual application of a suitable penetrating sealer. With proper care the surround will last as long as your building. (link to care)
- Our surrounds are naturally stable and will be as strong as the substrate that they are adhered to once installed. Concrete is very strong but can be susceptible to chipping if knocked sharply with a hard object so please handle it with care.
- Please Note: Although it is structurally strong and stable, concrete is susceptible to surface reaction with highly alkali and acidic substances.
