One of Solus’s founding principles is social responsibility. We believe it’s important to support and nurture the city in which we live and as such, have just participated in another Vancouver fundraiser, Project Empty Bowl held on June 11th. Here we happily donated a Solus Water bowl for auction.
If you’re not yet familiar with Project Empty bowl, it’s an annual fundraiser put on by A Loving Spoonful which is a volunteer-driven, non-partisan Society that provides free, nutritious meals to people living with HIV/AIDS in Greater Vancouver.
The evening was joyous with food, music and friendship all for the sole purpose of raising funds so that A Loving Spoonful can put specially prepared meals on the tables of those unable to provide for themselves due to their medical condition. Each attendee at this event receives a special handcrafted bowl as a reminder of their generous contribution to this very worthy cause. We like to think our Solus water bowl was also symbolic for this purpose.
Solus Water bowl:
The Solus water bowl was auctioned off and won by Jay Boucher of Vancouver. We’re happy that our donation helped towards the $95,000 raised. Have a sneak peak at our new water bowls in action!
